WarningSum:...Flash Flood Watch Remains In Effect Until 8 Pm Mdt This
Evening...
Warning Message:The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* much of southwest and south central Utah...including Zion
National Park...Capitol Reef National Park...and the Grand
Staircase Escalante National Monument.
* Until 8 PM MDT this evening
* potentially heavy showers and thunderstorms will increase in
coverage across the watch area through mid afternoon before
gradually decreasing in coverage during the late afternoon and
evening.
* Heavy rainfall has the potential to cause flash flooding of
slot canyons and normally dry washes across southern Utah.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Those planning recreational activities in flash flood prone areas
should alter or postpone plans. Always have an escape Route in
mind should flood waters approach.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
